Stonington forum aims to provide resources, awareness for disconnected youth
On Tuesday evening, local residents and leaders from organizations across southeastern Connecticut will come together at Mystic Seaport Museum for a 90-minute moderated discussion. Chesebrough, who was appointed as a member of CCM’s 119K Commission earlier this year, said the program is part of an effort to raise awareness and provide support for disconnected youth.
Figuring Out How To Engage At-Risk Youth
The commission has also held two roundtable discussions with affected youth in Waterbury and Stamford, and will have more. The commission’s goal is to publish, by October, a multi-year strategy for getting 60,000 young people back on track.
New Stamford nonprofit to raise private dollars for ‘pocket parks,’ small green spaces
Amanda Olberg from Dalio Education said the Greenwich philanthropy will match donations the Stamford Parks Community Partnership receives dollar for dollar up to $100,000. She said Dalio Education wanted to support the Youth Service Corps as part of its “commitment to young people who are at risk or disconnected from school and work.”
